Lens has broken and neon light (still working) has dropped back inside front stainless steel panel. How do I get at the neon light to put it back into a new lens? Do I need to remove the cooker from the unit and get at the light via a panel on the top of the cooker or is there a way of fixing it without removing the cooker?

The 'Buy together' appears when you add this to your basket and is product ES548060 Cooker Red Pilot Lamp.

  • I dont see any 'buy together' link as alluded to by Chris (Staff) above. Am I missing something ? Two of my plastic neon light fittings have cracked and allowed the clear Neon lens to pop out and be lost across the kitchen floor. I've had to Araldite my (working) neons up into place behindthe empty holes in the Fascia. By Iain - Edinburgh - 12 October 2014

We have now added a 'buy together' suggestion of the light this attaches to.

  • On mine, 2 of the lenses have fallen out, but are not broken. I removed the 4 screws that hold the entire oven unit in its housing. I then slid the oven unit about 4 inches out of the housing (not all the way out). This reveals 4 screws that hold the top fascia of the oven in place. Removing these 4 screws enabled the fascia to move forward a little (still held firmly by lots of wires). I then discovered that each neon light had a plastic sleeve with a hole that the lens clips into, holding both the lens and the neon in place. The plastic sleeves had broken allowing both the light and the lens to fall away. I have not been able to find replacement plastic sleeves, so the problem remains. By Max - Coventry - 21 July 2014

  • The same thing happened to 2 of my lenses. The answer appears to be that a plastic sleeve fits over the neon bulb and the base of the lens passes through the hole in the fascia and clips into a hole in the plastic sleeve. On mine, the 2 plastic sleeves have broken, allowing the lens to fall out at the front, and the neon bulb to fall down and out of sight at the back of the fascia (wires still attached). I have succeeded in removing the fascia so as to see what has happened. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find replacements for these plastic sleeves. By Max - Coventry - 21 July 2014
