New seal for washing machine but requires a thew slams to get door to lock is this normal and will it get better with time it is the correct part

    A new door seal is naturally going to be a tighter fit and will mould to the gap as it is repeatedly heated during washing. If the seal fitted the machine and does not leak then it is going to be the correct seal. You could compare with a machine in a showroom as they too are likely to be difficult to close at first.
