How do I fit the replacement roller catch in the door of my Cannon Coniston C50GCSF cooker?

I can replace the prong on the body of the cooker but cannot see how to access the main catch mechanism inside the door

Before starting check if the screw holes have 'threads' and if smooth use the old screws to cut a thread into the new catch then remove them. To 'line up' the catch help slide it in position with a this stick or knitting needle and move it with a small screwdriver when aligning the screw holes.

  • The catch mechanism slides out all right but how do you line up the new catch to the screw holes and hold it there having slid it into door frame ?? By Jb - North Yorkshire - 13 November 2016

If the catch is in the door frame take the door off and remove the 'door frame caps ' to enable the lock to slide out once unscrewed.
