my oven is giving a chattering sound with no program selected! the sound appears to to come from the timer unit it's as if the contactors are chattering

My question is, is this a common fault as i don't want to purchase the wrong part . The only way to stop this noise is to kill the supply. can you lease advise me as to the correct way to proceed regards Tony

    The relays in the timer can cause a noise when it is powered but does not normally cause an issue with the cooker working, you can normally hold down the 2 end buttons to turn the display off when may stop the noise.
