Hotpoint Dishwasher FDL Series F08 Error Code

Hand washing dishes can not only be tedious but also a waste of your valuable time. This is where your reliable dishwasher plays it's part after meal times, to do all the hard work on cleaning the dishes so you don't have to.

If you are unable to use your dishwasher at the moment because it has developed a fault, meaning you are now washing up by hand at the sink, then surely you might be thinking to yourself that you want your dishwasher up and running as soon as possible - so you can spend more of your time doing the things you enjoy.

If your Hotpoint dishwasher is displaying an 08 error code (the first and last lights from the left) on the LED display panel, it is typically associated with the programme module.

By continuing to read on, your questions regarding this could be answered below - and could even have you fixing it yourself too (saving yourself some valuable time and money in the process)

Note: Some Hotpoint modules may need a Hotpoint agent or additional equipment to programme before they will work after replacement.

Cause 1

Printed Circuit Board

The PCB (printed circuit board) is the brain to your appliance, and can otherwise be known as a control board or module. The function of a control board is to ensure that the dishwasher can run its programs, and also display the relevant information, (the later is relevant if it is a display circuit board).

If the module fails then you could be stuck with an appliance that can no longer be used, as the program settings can be unreliable or simply not work at all.

Unfortunately diagnosing a faulty PCB can be difficult - unless there is some visual indication of the fault. Identifying the cause may be near impossible and would require a replacement to have your appliance restored back to its normal working condition.

Here we show you how to check the display PCB that sits behind the control panel of your dishwasher.

Safety First! Please ensure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before starting any repair.

  • To gain access to the PCB, you will have to remove the outer panel.
  • If you drop the door down you will see a set of screws that will go through the inner panel to the outer panel.
  • With the panel out of the way remove the screws from the control panel and the PCB will be located behind.
  • Look for visual signs of damage to the PCB or a loose terminal connection and replace as required.

If you do find faults you may be devastated to learn that you will have to hand-wash those dirty dishes until you can get a replacement PCB. Hopefully, this won't take you too long though, as here as eSpares we have a wide range of replacement dishwasher PCB's.

We even have a video guide to help you during the replacement.
