Hoover Washing Machine Error Code E03

Having to live without a washing machine can be very frustrating and time consuming. If you have been unfortunate enough to be dealt the cards of a faulty washer you will be faced with the struggle of dragging heavy bags of clothing to the launderette.

If your washing machine is either displaying E03 error code or the power light is blinking three times before pausing and repeating, there is likely to be a problem with the machine draining water from the drum. Use our helpful guide to diagnose your washer and get the machine losing its water again.

Cause 1

Drain Pump

A common draining issue could be caused by a faulty drain pump, which is used to drive and drain the water out of the washer.

If you cannot hear the pump trying to empty the water when you select a drain or spin cycle, then suspect the drain pump is the issue.

Safety First! Please make sure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before beginning any repair.

Here’s how to check if it’s faulty:

  • Locate the drain pump
  • Using a multimeter check the Pump, you will be looking for a reading of between 100 and 300 Ohms - with a reading of zero or excessively over then a pump has failed and will require replacing. (See here for instruction on how to use a multimeter)
