How to Replace the Door Seals on a Tumble Dryer - Bosch

Over time, the seal on your tumble dryer will perish, become damaged or develop mould. When this happens, the heat will escape from the dryer meaning your items will either come out still wet or will take longer to dry, leading to high energy bills. In this article, we will show you how to replace the door seal on a Bosch tumble dryer and get it back up and running as it should.

How to fit a new door seal on a tumble dryer

Replacing a door seal on a Bosch tumble dryer is a fairly simple process. This particular dryer has two door seals but they are fitted in the same way. Take a look at the video or follow the article below for an easy step-by-step guide.

For this video, we are using a Bosch tumble dryer but the process is usually similar on most makes and models. Safety first!

Before you begin, make sure your tumble dryer is switched off and completely disconnected from the mains.

Step 1: Find the correct door seal

First, you'll need to make sure you have the correct door seal to fit your tumble dryer model. To do this, you'll need to know the model number. This is located on a sticker or data plate either behind the door or kickplate, on the control panel or on the back or sides. Step 2: Remove the door seal

Remove the two door seals by gently pulling them away. Remove the front door seal first.

And then remove the rear seal in the same way.

Step 3: Fit your new door seal

Fit your new door seals by manoeuvering them around the door frame.

Make sure the seals fit securely into the lip of the frame by smoothing it over with your fingers.
