Eventually the line in your trimmer will run out and when it does you won’t need to replace the entire machine.
You can either purchase the spool and line with the cover, this is great if your existing cover has become damaged. Or if your original cover is fine you can just purchase the spool and line.
This guide talks you through the replacement process for changing your spool and line with and without a replacement cover.
This video shows an example on how to remove or replace the part on a typical machine, some models may be different but the procedure should be similar.
What You Will Need:
- Spool & Line or Spool, Line and Cover
Safety First! Please ensure that you have disconnected the appliance from the mains before starting any repair.
Spool and Line
Step 1 - Remove the Spool and Cover
To replace both the spool and line, you simply need to remove the existing spool cover and spool.
Step 2 - Replace the Spool and Cover
Once removed you can then replace it with the new spool and cover.
Step 3 - Uncleat the Line
When you’ve connected it onto your strimmer you will need to uncleat the line and feed it through the eyelets to ensure it does the job.
Step 1 - New Spool and Old Cover
Remove the existing spool and cover, and fit the spool and line into the old cover.
Step 2 - Uncleat the Line and Feed the Cover
Unclear the line and feed it through the eyelets on the cover.
Step 3 - Bringing it All Together
Once you have the line fed through the eyelets you can now fit the spool and cover back onto the strimmer.
After following either, you will now be able to now continue to trim your lawn.
