  Identified the leak in our 'pre loved' Neff dishwasher as the 'pump to sump' rubber gasket. I suspect the moving out of one kitchen and being transported to ours caused the gasket to lose its seal on the pump. I Purchased the gasket which promptly arrived and fitted it within 15 minutes. All good now.

  Saved calling an engineer / the price of a new dishwasher 02 June 2016

  This seal replaced old seal which was leaking - though could see no damage on old seal. Used washing-up liquid to lubricate inner and outer surfaces prior to insertion into sump and connection of the circulation pump to seal. Following connection there was no more leaking - very good value - saved calling an engineer / the price of a new dishwasher. Tips: initially the dishwasher was continuously pumping out, from the web found out that this was a sign that the base of the dishwasher contained leaked water which had activated the float switch - though continuously pumping there's no way for it to pump water out of the base, only stops more water reaching there. Using advice from web took dishwasher apart - the base of the dishwasher was partitioned so was useful to dry out all partitions then temporarily block gaps between partitions with bluetac - then run dishwasher with side panels removed - it's then easier to locate from which area of the dishwasher the leak is coming i.e. which partition of the base contains water and so located leak (dribble) from the seal between dishwasher sump and the main circulation pump. Don't forget to remove bluetac once finished.
