  Easily modified to fit earlier models 21 October 2021

  The filter appears to be good quality. As others have noted, you may need to remove the inserted plastic tube in order to fit earlier Panasonic models. No need to use a saw. The tube clips in to the filter. Just insert a broad flat-blade screwdriver between the collar on the tube and the rubber seal and twist the screwdriver. It comes out without even breaking the clips. Much easier than trying to saw it off.

  BUY TWO YOU WILL PROBABLY RUIN ONE TRYING TO CUT IT 11 March 2016

  PANASONIC MC-E4061 FILTER. THE ORIGINAL FILTER HAS NO TUBE EXTENSION SO THIS ADDITION HAS TO BE CUT OFF. IT HAS A CLIP-IN FEATURE WHICH IS NOT ACCESSIBLE SO THERE IS NO CHOICE BUT TO CUT OFF THE TUBE AND THIS I DID IN STAGES. WHEN YOU GET CLOSE TO THE BOTTOM BE AWARE THAT THERE IS A HIDDEN SEAL WHICH IS EASILY DAMAGED BECAUSE YOU WON'T SEE IT !! SO BUY TWO- RUIN ONE !!! NOT VERY CLEVER.

  Newer model? 21 March 2015

  As noted by others, if you have an older model this filter needs the tube removing. The tube is a push-in, but I ended up sawing the plastic off. Whether brute force can simply squeeze and pull it out - I'll try that next time! I do know that when I first bought this part there was no extra tube and wonder whether the later models require it. If this is the case I feel Espares do need to research the problem and let us know the best way to deal with it.

  Wrong filter 28 March 2013

  For all this filter did not fit my particular model of vacuum as supplied I had luckily read a review where one previous customer had still managed to use it by cutting the 4" tube off the end.I managed to successfully do the same.An instruction with the replacement part would have been helpful and prevent some people returning the item.Once altered fitted and works well.

  Some advice would have been handy 21 February 2013

  There is an extension tube attached to this part which needed to be removed before it fitted my cleaner. There was no advice on how to best do this so I ended up cutting and prising it off.

  fitting was easy and was a good fit, however when you purchase this filter remember the mounting ring at one end of the filter is new and the housing it connects to is probably a bit worn,hence the reason for renewal. Make sure you line it up correctly and you will feel a firm click when it is in the correct position and you should have no problem.

  Panasonic vacuum filter 30 July 2012

  Just received filter and it fitted perfectly. Same code numbers stamped on filter as on original fitted. Working perfectly. Delivery did take longer than expected (filter was ex stock)- but didn't matter much.

  Product same as old one which weve had for about 8 years. Fits the same looks the same. Would certainly buy another one if the vacuum cleaner lasts that long.
