  Works on my 312i, but the storage issue... 12 June 2021

  The old head had become worn - it was 24 years old, but the motor still sucked so I bought this replacement head. It fits perfectly. It is slightly narrower than the original one, but that suits me. The main problem as other reviewers have said is that the storage mechanism isn't the same. It works fine (...) if you use the 'upright' slot on the side of the machine, but not at all if you use the slot on the rear of the machine. I thought it might be better if I cut the lower portion of the lug on the tool off, but it isn't, so my next plan is to recreate the profile of the original tool's lug, using a mixture of superglue and baking soda... ;-)

  Not a true replacement for an AIRTEQ head 29 January 2019

  "1" is unduly harsh but it is intended get your attention. Several reviewers have noted that it doesn't fit the storage slot on their model but have not specified which model they have. So, in case you have an S6240 please know it won't fit the storage slot. More generally, this is an "ALLTEQ" head (and has 1 foot button) ; if your vacuum has an "AIRTEQ" head (with 2 foot buttons), it will have a different-shaped storage slot and this ALLTEQ replacement won't fit in the storage slot. The bad news is that it appears the original AIRTEQ head is no longer available. The good news is that in every other respect this seems to be a perfectly adequate replacement. But to pay this high price and find it's not a perfect replacement (when the implication is that it is) is frustrating. It would be helpful to include this information in the product description, I suggest.

  While my husband was keen to replace our long serving and hard working Miele, with a "Bagless" newcomer, we are delighted that the part delivered, restores it to Max Working capacity. Order, delivery, fitting. All too easy.
