- If you mean the coiled spring holding the latch in place then yes. When fitting look how the existing one fits into the "n" shaped groove and edit the extra plastic (gently) until the new one does the same.

I have a DWF50 and am worried that removing this internal panel may damage the detergent release catch
- not sure on that model,on mine just took out top four screws and two either side.carefully pull top front and steel inner apart. WARNING mind fingers on edge of inner panel.sharp took chunk out of finger.
- No inner panel stays in place only the top door plastics need removing. Top 8 screws will do the trick.
- You shouldn't need to remove the internal panel to fit this. The screws along the inner edge should release the outer plasic cover only. Note the 2 different threads on the screws and make sure they go back in the same place.
- The dishwasher that I repaired (haier) reqired removal of eight philips head screws to give enough acess to the switch then remove the two screws that hold the switch th the door inner, release and lift out the switch assembly remove the two power wires and refit the new switch in the reverse order. Remember to isolate the power before comensing work.
- I didnt think so but after fitting my new lock something must have happened as it doesnt release anymore
- When you remove all the panel screws its only the outercover on the door that comes off, you dont disturb any of the detergent release catch, hinges etc, the job takes about 15 min!
Have replaced the dock lock, but have been unable to find the spring which broke off from the previous lock. Is it OK to use the dishwasher or do I have to keep searching for the spring?

It is always recommended to remove any loose parts and they could damage wiring or electronic components. If you have removed the door skin and cannot locate the spring check around the control board and switches. If this is ok then you must use with caution at your own risk.
Do I need to fit a new catch if I am replacing the lock? Or is the old one still ok to use. 1 Answer

The old catch should be alright to use if undamaged, examine carefully and replace if required.

If this is the wire shown on the module in the photo on Stock Number: ES663923 then this is the temperature sensor and this pushes into a clip on the stainless door skin to monitor the water temperature of the wash cycle.
I bought this part on October 2010 and exactly the same has happened - the spring has snapped! This time I have the pin, but reading other questions you can't buy just the spring - sure the part should last longer than 3 years!?!

This is a genuine manufacturers part and is likely to last the same time as the original. The life span of this may be reduced if the door is allowed to slam or if the door is slightly out of alignment.

I have a hotpoint slimline d/washer - the new lock fitted well but the the recessed handle to open the door is stuck - you can open door with small effort and the d/washer is working - but something needs adjusting to free the handle - any ideas?
- I had something like this were the door switch was latched, but the door was open. I use a long screwdriver to prise it back to the open position.
Hello, I bought this spare part and it arrived very promptly, thank you very much! I hope you can answer the question below for me. My dishwasher is a Hotpoint model BFI680 - integrated. In the video, Matt removes easily the old interlocking assembly by unscrewing two screws. However,there are no screws to be unscrewed in my model. The interlocking assembly is "clipped" to the dishwasher door via the two inner side round holes at the bottom. Tried to remove it with putting a flat screw driver under them and applied some force but gave up as I was quite scared that I will break something and make things worse. Any suggestion on how to remove the old interlocking assembly when no screws are in place? Many thanks Andreas

Hi Andreas, if the interlock is clipped in to place, the only thing I can suggest is just going for it with the screwdriver. Obviously be very careful that you don't break any other plastic parts - but if it's clipped in place, that's the only way it'll come out!
