The fan looked ok but would not fit on the shaft. I found this to be partly due to ridges on the keyway. Having filed these down, the fan was still too tight to risk forcing it on to the shaft, with no way of getting it off again. I spent a lot of time drilling & tapping the fan boss and making a pulling plate so that I could remove it when necessary with drawing gear.
