This is the third time I've had to buy replacement shelves for the Hotpoint fridge. The glass is heavy and the lugs that hold the shelf in place are just not man enough for the job. I will never buy a fridge like this again. I wish Hotpoint would change the design of the shelf

I purchased this item because the original shelf supplied with the fridge failed after just 3 years. The plastic guides broke and although I managed a temporary repair with superglue they broke again. This is a weak design.
The replacement shelf is not cheap and the original should have lasted a lot longer. I hope this replacement is better.

This is the full size shelf not the one for the salad box. It's in two parts, which are dearer than the full shelf! They also break, in case anyone else is interested.

Not really unless you support it along both edges, it is made for the main part of the fridge but they are very poorly designed, or use poor quality materials because the plastic supports become brittle under low temperatures.
