    Water filter for lg fridge

I wanted an internal filter 1 difficult to get 2 expensive therefore why not use external filter. Fitted pipe fine no problem! This could be used on any fridge with 1/4 inch pipe so is effectively generic ? thank you!!

    good buy

A little different from what was on the fridge as the one that was on it was push fit which can be easily fitted without turning of the water supply if you quick but this is the screw type so take a little longer to fit but still dose the job .

Yes. You will usually be advised to run water through the dispenser until this clears completely.

I seem to have had another filter fitted to my lg fridge. Can I cut the pipes to replace it/

Most external water filters either have ends that screw off or push fit connections that have a collar to push toward the filter body that will release the pipe when pressed. If you have plenty of pipe available it is possible to cut the pipe with strong scissors if required.

  • I 'cut off' the existing cartridge. The new cartridge comes with screw fit attachments. Put the nuts on the pipework first, heat the ends of the pipe in hot water. Push the warmed ends on to the cone shaped ends of the cartridge, tighten up the nuts. Job done. Always check that the flow arrow is in the right direction. By KFR1 - East Midlands - 26 May 2010

Unfortunately we don't seem to have a filter kit for the model of LG fridge you've mentioned. Apologies, we will endeavour to stock it in the future.
