    Quick practical solution

I ordered this part as an alternative to a large call-out fee to have the door fixed by the manufacturers. The old one had broken in half and without it the tumble drier could not work. It took a few minutes to put on and has worked well ever since. It was easy to put on - you just need a screwdriver - and did not need great DIY skills.

Easy to fit, if you know how

I had to order and fit a new hook after the old one sheared, and the "front" end (with the hook) was lodged in the aperture next to the opening for the drum. The hardest part was removing the front end of the old hook. You need a thin pair of pliers to grip this part of the hook and to lever it out by pulling upwards. After removing the old hook the rest was easy. You need 2 Torx screwdrivers, a T20 to remove the screws holding the door, and a T10 for removing the old hook and fixing the new one.

  • The front panel of the door just clips off, you might need to use something sharp to start it. Then it's just 2 screws and clip the front panel back on. By bubba37678 - Lincoln - 17 February 2010

Hi Phil2, this part will use a clipping mechanism to attach to the door.

Answer this question

I used a kitchen knife to loosen the. Peeled it off. Screwdriver (not Philips) only problem. Insert new hook upwards screw in. Replace cover by pressing until clicks. Easy
