After being ripped off by an over enthusiastic and inept dishwasher technician, I decided to take matters into my own hands.   Hi judith. Both this part and the door latch assembly (ES488161) perform the same function, which is to latch the dishwasher door closed, however they fit different models of washer. To find the latch for your model, simply search the model number in the bar at the top of the page to view all parts available for it.
