This video should help with fitting this part. However, the exact layout and fitting technique may differ for your make and model.

  my tumble dryer was making awful noise for a long time then stopped, husband said probably bearings etc. ordered and he managed to fit pretty easily, love e spares for how to videos

  Having replaced drum shaft & bearing using your Drum shaft kit & video I am unable to ease drive belt over spindle due to tension. Any advice on how to refit belt would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks alan.

    Hi Alan, if you try submerging the belt in luke warm water for a few minutes this should help to loosen it slightly and allow you to fit it. Although a second pair of hands might also prove helpful to you here.

• Q Mystery Washer in Kit and Video 1 Answer

  I've used the Hotpoint Tumble Dryer Drum Shaft Kit (V4) on my Hotpoint VTD65A seemingly with success, but I'm confused by the (M10?) steel washer in the kit. As per the video, when I dismantled mine there was no sign of there having ever been such a washer, and yet on the video, when it came time to reassemble, magically there was a need for this washer to be added (and no mention of it being additional to what was there before). Can you clarify whether this washer is needed on a VTD65A, and if so why it's needed now when it wasn't part of the original design?

    Hi,

    The washer in question comes with the Kit but indeed was not on the model used. Some models do not require this washer but as the kit comes with it and for added assurance we used it on the Video model.

• Q Wiring On Hotpoint VTDOOP 1 Answer

  Hi there;-... I took the machine apart yesterday, to service the drum (as bearings gone)... After i removed the blades and the side ... I pulled off what i thought were two joined sets of wires. Unfortunately they were not!! ... One set were in a white connector ... These go to the heater ... The others were not a pair ... They do go to the same connector as the heater ones ... But the other end goes into the main wiring up to the switch i suppose? They were infact two separate wires!! ... One has a white plastic cover on the end of it;-... And is coloured brown/white stripes!! ... The other has just a crimped type connector and is Yellow/Green striped!! ... Any advice as to which goes in which of the last two spaces on the connector please?? ...

    Hi David- the best I can offer is our video with Matt.....although he doesn't go into detail about which wires connect where at about 3:28 into the video there is a zoomed shot of the wiring (intact) before Matt gets to unplugging. • Q Just recieved the kit for replacing the rear bearing on my Indesit dryer but notice that the circular plate holding the bearing pin does not have any threads cut in to the fixing holes. Are the screws self tappers or is this a faulty part? 1 Answer

    As a novice, I also found a lack of threads strange. However, they appear to be a type of self tapper, cut a thread and tightened up OK. Dryer is now working fine.
