I chose this product because some reviewers said they had problems with cheap bulbs. These bulbs are a recognised make, they were easy to fit and are working as they should at present.

Ok, it's a bulb. You screw it in and it lights up. How hard can it be? Well, very hard as it turns out. I bought a cheapo from local store for about three quid (Compton brand) and despite being rated at 300C it exploded violently the first time the oven was switched on (to 200C). In fact it exploded so violently that it took out the other bulb on the other side of the oven on the same electric circuit AND blasted the solder joint clean off the lights' relay on the controller board. A new controller board is a couple of hundred quid, but luckily it just needed resoldering and it works fine again. Don't trust cheap bulbs, they could cost you a great deal more than the difference in price in the long run! CHECK THE PICTURE CAREFULLY - my oven is Neff B1691N0GB/01 and eSpares had two bulb shapes listed for this oven, one of which was incorrect and a big spherical bulb that won't fit anywhere in the appliance at all. For this E-Nr oven, you need this tiny cylindrical pygmy bulb. All's well in the end, nice bright oven!

  • Q I have purchased two bulbs so far, but neither of them fits. The top of the bulb is too large for the lamp cover. The original bulb is a uniform width. Please advise. Thank you! 1 Answer

When ordering online have you correctly identified the oven? if so this could just be an error in identification of the correct bulb by the manufacturer. Have you kept the original bulb? If so take it to a shop selling electrical appliances and they should help you out.

For the top oven/grill Neff Model U1661AOGB/02)? Will it also fit the main oven? Apart from the genuine Neff spares what other bulbs would fit my oven? Thanks Gordon

Hi Gordonthomson This bulb will fit both the main and grill ovens of your Neff U1661A0GB/02 cooker. The other bulb which is suitable for either of your ovens is this universal model:
