We have previously purchased these knobs from this site - I can't remember if this was our second or third purchase of them. Unfortunately the previous set that we bought from eSpares failed in the same way as the original Stoves ones. The metal plating flakes, producing sharp edges that can lacerate your fingers. This is due to the temperature cycling every time that the oven door is opened and closed (the knobs reach quite a high temperature within seconds of opening the door when the oven is hot). This is really a Stoves problem. The knobs should be designed properly. There is clearly no application of materials science involved in their design.

  • Q Do these melt after a few months of use? 1 Answer

These knobs should not melt but there are a couple customers who have advised that the chrome flakes off after a couple months and should be of better quality for a genuine replacement

Hi Cubby, in order to find you the right control knob, I'll need your cookers nine digit model number. It will probably start with a '0' or a '4'. For help finding it, use our guide: http://www.espares.co.uk/findingmodelnumbers.aspx#a1

  • Q I asked for the knob for the Stoves 600 SIDLm but you state you have none, the knob shown looks exactly the same and fits the Stoves 600 SIDOm 1 Answer

What is the difference and why is it not compatible? Cheers, Terry

    By Terry - 28 November 2008

    • A
Hi Terry I may be able to find a knob for you. There should be a nine digit number somewhere in or on your cooker that probably starts with '059'. If I have this number I just might be able to find a knob. For help finding this number, use our handy guide: http://www.espares.co.uk/findingmodelnumbers.aspx
