Wasn't aware of the carbon filter in our hood and it hadn't been changed from installation over 20 years ago! We constantly had the smoke alarms going off and the house would smell of the cooking food. When I received the new filter the weight difference was 3.2 ounces! so we had that much contaminants in the old one. Now the smoke alarms are silent and the house doesn't get full of food odours.
