Panic ensues....Huge noise in spin cycle and when at last finished and my heart returned from mouth to chest I find a large plastic wand has broken off from inside the drum of my washing machine. Is the machine dead? Will I be in for a hundred pounds of service costs? No, because replacement paddles for most machines are listed on e spares with a very helpful guide to choosing the right product, a great telephone advice-line and a video guide to simple installation. The cost was minimal and the machine returned to use in two days, the repair took less than 3 minutes.
Tip: my machine has three paddles and soon after the first failure another paddle broke off indicating they all have a similar usage life. When I ordered the second I took advantage of the discount offered for multiple purchases buying another for "stock" against future failure. Sure enough a couple of weeks later same scenario as the third original paddle failed and broke away. This time the machine was in service again within 10 minutes and having replaced all three paddles over only 6 or so weeks I am anticipating trouble free operation for years ahead.

The drum was the correct one. There were 3 similar ones but there was a video on Youtube by espares showing the slight variations. Really pleased with the service, speed of delivery and they threw in a pen and some dishwasher tabs as well. A+

VERY useful and clear video showed me exactly the version (of 3 versions) I needed for my machine. Arrived promptly. Excellent service.
QI've bought several of these in the past with no problems, but I have the same problem as one of your recent reviewers on my last purchase, it just won't stay in. Am I missing something, or has there been a slight change, I've never had this problem befor1 Answer

Make sure you locate the paddle in thge appropriate slots and push home until it clicks into place and should feel solid with no movement.
QHi--I have a Hotpoint WMA62 and so I think I need version 2 of the drum lifter. One of my lifters has come off; the plastic tabs are broken on one side. However I can't see where there is a metal tab to attach it to?1 Answer
Is it just the holes in the metal drum where the plastic tabs fit in?
QThe drum paddle has come off, I have found the part, No ES186680. If Tthis fits onto the metal tab how can I be sure it's the drum paddle I need to replace and not the metal tab.1 Answer

if its a WMA33 washing machine like mine, then you need the version 2 paddle, i made the mistake once of getting version 1, but i returned it, and got it exchanged for version 2 without any problem, but version 2 paddle IS the one you need. x
