    Poor Design

Quite a nuisance to fit. If the tang which rests on the door casing was made longer it would have been easier and been more secure. I must say that the door itself is also poor in design where the latch spring fits could have been widened and thicker.

good product but not easy to fit.

Some fitting instructions would have been helpful. When I did eventually manage to dismantle the door, the problem was not the spring but the door itself where the plastic had fractured. This is the weak spot. I managed to insert some shim steel between door frame and latch spring and this appears to have fixed the problem for the time being. If it doesn't it will mean a new door, but the quality of the door latch spring was good and I did fit the new one while I had it all in bits.

The door latch hook must be sprung to hold onto the door frame. Confirm Stock Number: ES185739 has not lost the hook end and springs correctly into position.

  • Spring fits into door hook with long long wire sat on strengthened part of door surround with hook pointing inwards. However I tried I could not align all the holes to insert the spindle and needed an extra pair of hands (my wife). It then took a matter of seconds. By Dave - South East - 06 December 2012
Answer this question

to send me,(a mechanical/electrical illerate) a diagram/photo of a complete unit, so than my wife can dry my clothes, and do not have to iron them. Please please please.
