Good website guided me to the right part. Delivered in 2 working days and notified all the time about expected delivery. Part fitted in 2 minutes. Total cost about 10% of a quote for repair and an anticipated wait of three weeks.

I put off replacing the paddle in my Candy GODF800/L80 washing machine as I thought the call out and or losing my machine for a couple of days was going to be expensive and too much hassle. My wife finally convinced me to seek a replacement as she was fed up sewing her clothes as they were being chewed up by the drum because the paddle wasn't there. The paddle is so easy to fit line it up in the holes in the drum and pull it towards you. There is no need to strip down the machine to fix the Torx screws as the paddle is a perfect snug fit. Thank you espares.

I have ordered this item on three or four separate occasions. They do not seem to be very good quality and break easily usually within a few months. I can't find any better quality one so I have to continue to buy them.

  • Q Candy GODF 800-80 - does paddle fit without screws and is there advice on how to fit? 1 Answer

If the paddles do not just slide and lock in place we think on your machine the paddles slide into place and are secured using a stainless steal screw from under the tub. To access and remove the screw you may have to lay the machine on its side and remove the hose from the bottom of the tub. As the screw is not magnetic you can use 'blue tack' to hold it onto the screwdriver tip. This is a difficult repair and you may consider it best to contact an engineer to carry it out for you.

The drum assembly is supplied as one piece in this machine but the paddles are replaceable. From memory I think there is one maybe two stainless steel screws per paddle that need to be removed before you can slide the paddle and release it from its grooves. You may be able to reach these screws by lying the machine down and removing the sump hose.
