  • Check that the Cutting Head fits tightly onto the drive shaft. The drive shaft cuts a thread in the plastic Cutting Head. Mine was stripped. You need to identify the model no. of the Gardenvac to ensure getting the right part By kappajo - Cheshire - 05 March 2010

  • Pity a simple photocopy of Sailor's reply wasn't supplied with the spare part. It would have been invaluable. By GRUPen - North Wales - 16 March 2011
  • Make sure the machine is switched off and disconnected from the mains supply. You will have to separate the main body sides. Use a Pozidrive screwdriver. Once the main body is in 2 sections, disconnect the 2 power leads from the motor. Remove the motor from the body noting its position first so it goes back the same way. Remove the cap from the top of the motor (this is plastic and just lifts off). The end of the impellor has a screwdriver slot using the correct size screwdriver, and an adjustable spanner on the cutting head, unscrew the broken part and replace with the new. Re-assembly is the reverse of dismantling. Good Luck Sailor. By Sailor - South Wales - 18 November 2008
