After 3 weeks of waiting for the estate agent to fix the washing machine as promised when I moved into my flat, I thought I'd have a go myself. Although the model is now obsolete, I found a compatible part on espares. The price and the video on how to replace the door seal encouraged me to get the part and within 24 hours it was delivered and on my washing machine (and I'm not usually the most confident or competent DIY-er). Ran a rinse first to test it and water leaked out the front. Double checked everything against video and seemed fine. Thought it might instead be due to the drainage holes in the seal, which were only perforated on the non-visible side, unlike on the original part. Pierced them right through then ran a full wash cycle. Leaked again. Noticed the seal wasn't fully flush with the door at the bottom so tried flattening the rubber a bit and checked the door was properly on. Seems to have worked as ran another full load and not a drop of water came out. Thank you espares!
