With 4 kids our washing machine works overtime and when it stopped working I was expecting to have to spend a fortune on a replacement. However after a little investigation and a quick internet search I traced the problem to the pump. I was surprised to find a new pump available at a very reasonable price and a quick delivery. Fitting was simple as it was an exact replacement. Excellent service.

The machine is syphoning.Check your outlet hose is not rammed down the pipe also check the stand pipe is 18 inches high. The fault code is telling you that the water is being drained from the machine

H Nash, it sounds as if the problem is with either the sump hose (the hose that drains the drum down to the pump) or the pump. Check both for damage, and replace as necessary.

  • Q How do I replace a motor pump in my washing machine 2 Answers

I have a Tecnik washing machine model no TKL9060 which due to a short curcuit is now not working properly. An engineer said that it would be too costly to repair as it was a problem with the motor but if I replaced the motor pump would that solve the problem I wonder as all the programmes seem to be there on the control panel but it just makes a low whirring sound with no movement

  • Q How do I remove a bottom filter from a Belling SGE 12 X. 1 Answer

I have tried to remove the bottom filter from my washing machine as I want to clean it. I have given it a quarter turn left which has allowed the machine to drain and thought that I would be able to draw the filter out but no luck. I dont want to force it as this would probably wreck the thing. Any ideas ? Many thanks

Sounds like the filter on my Indesit. Make sure you get a spare from Espares first, as the problem may be a foreign body stuck between the filter and inlet hose. Use a pair of pliers and firmly work the filter clockwise and anticlockwise. With luck it will slowly yield anticlockwise and you can draw it out, beward some water will follow it !. Check for objects in the filter housing and actually at the pump impellor at the back, buttons, small coins or eve bits of wicker laundry basket, a avourite in ours. If you have the spare ready, then a broken filter is'nt a delay.

I fitted one myself recently and it does go stiff due to the magnet fitted.
