Tumble Dryer Thermostat Kitenlarge image

Description

If your dryer is blowing cold air then this thermostat kit could save you hundreds of pounds on a new tumble dryer. We get consistent customer feedback on how easy this tumble dryer thermostat kit is to fit so you can feel confident that this is a repair that you can do yourself.

When you order this kit you'll get 2 tumble dryer thermostats and it will also arrive with easy to follow fitting instructions.

This kit is a genuine spare part for select Ariston, Creda, Crusader, Electra, Hotpoint, Indesit, Jackson and Proline tumble dryers.

Please note: this part is date code dependent, the date code is the first 2 digits of the serial number. Please check that your model and date code are listed under the list of appliances to ensure that this is the correct part for your tumble dryer.

To prevent failure of your tumble dryer thermostats please use the following guidelines:

  1. The disc of the stat must not be touched.
  2. Do not terminate the dryer cycle early. Your dryer needs the last 10 minutes of the cool down cycle to occur in order to clear residue heat in the dryer airflow.
  3. Blocked airflow will cause the thermostats to fail. Make sure you're not overloading your dryer and regular clean your lint filters after every load and empty the condenser (if you have one) as recommended by the manufacturer.
  4. If your front duct thermostat isn't working it will cause unnecessary stress on this part causing failure.

Saw a fix-it video on espares showing how to change these thermostats. Talk about easy. Now we have a dryer that dries again. In the past I would have thrown the machine away and bought a replacement. Thank you espares. You are brilliant

Hi Duggles, it sounds as if you need to give the condenser box a clean. Check out the last question on this page for help: http://www.letsfixit.co.uk/html/tumble_dryer_faq.html

  • Q Tumble Dryer not heating although Ive replaced the thermostats and heating element 1 Answer

I've checked the parts were suitable, rechecked the installation but I'm still not getting heat. What could be the solution?

Considering you've replaced both above parts it could be a fault with the timer. This would need to be looked at by an engineer though as further self diagnosis can be difficult.

I have replaced both the thermostat and heating element but dryer still blowing cold air only - any other solution - help!

Just make sure the stats are round the correct way and put them on a test machine to see if a current is passing through (good electrical hardware would help). They could be faulty.

Hi buster, the thermostats are located on the back panel of the dryer next to the element. There may be a cover over the element and 'stats, but this can be removed by unscrewing.
