Having read other reviews, the bearing was simple to fit, however, you need to take the top off to enable the bearing to be fitted. Worthwhile doing as the dryer is a lot quieter

Was very easy to fit, the securing pin was harder to get off but fitting the bearing was simple, it was made even easier if you take the lid off and take the weight off the drum first. My only concern is the bearing is very soft..

  • Q Creda tumble dryer drum sqeales when rotating in both directions 1 Answer

It still works, but is very noisy. The sound from the back of the drum varies between a rattling sort of squeak to an ear-splitting squeal - exactly the sound I'd expect from a failed bearing. Is there anything else it might be? And if it is the bearing, how difficult is it to fit - you haven't included this in your "how to" videos.

Hi Joe F, it does sound like the bearing has gone, and unfortunately replacing bearings is a big job. You'll need to take the back and side panels off the dryer to get access to it. Once you've removed the panels, you should be able to deduce how to get the bearing off. Best of luck!

  • Q I replaced this bearing in Nov 2009 and it seems to have gone again after only 15 months. That is a lot shorter life than the previous one. 0 Answers

I did not lubricate it since it seems to be graphite and should not need it. Could it have been installed incorrectly? The earth strap has now worn away and needs replacing too although I was surprised at the £7 price tag.
