Very sad that there are no fitting instuctions with this item to allow for double checking the fitting. Sad to say that the spool head melted and freewheeled within 5 minutes. I shall be looking for something better. Service from espares was very good though. Just the product which wasn't

Product was not up to standard of the original McCulloch spool head assembley. Easily fitted and worked fine at first. After only a few hours work the plastic began to melt over the spindle and eventually went into 'freewheel'. After several hours removing the melted plastic from the spindle, I had to revert back to the original McCulloch assembly and discard this product. I am now looking for a reliable product from anoher supplier.

  • Q How do I remove Trimmer Spool Head Assembly? 1 Answer

Trimmer Spool Head Assembly became siezed - I think due to overheating during a heavy strimming operation. I need to remove, preferably without breaking, to check that your part fits. My machine is a MAC 2816 Model Number B400128-51 Serial Number 12-431524

Hi Feast1304, these parts should easily screw off or click out - if you're having problems, it may be because a part or parts are jammed, which would mean to remove them may incur further damage. Best of luck.

  • Q What size thread will this head tighten onto? 1 Answer

My trimmer has an 8mm thread (husqvarna 329)
