My dishwasher is not washing properly, at the end of the cycle it looks like the dishes have been 'steamed' rather than washed. from searches on the internet it points to the recirculation pump being at fault and this was apparently a weak point with the Askoll pump. I've stripped the pump off and before I buy another wanted to know how I can test it to make sure, it doesn't appear the same as some on various tutorials, the hose to the body is removable ie isn't bonded at one side and the impellor although it comes off the shaft it has a plastic and rubber drive under it as if it is meant to. The pump fitted is an Askoll M95.1 part number 461972474392, any help would be appreciated.

Answer this question

My dishwasher ADL 934 S 1WH, makes a grinding like noise whilst washing. The heater is fine, you can hear it spraying but the finished result is not always perfect, especially when a full load is tackled. Some plates are left with food deposits and not all cutlery is clean. It gets cleaned regularly with espares cleaners and I take the spray arms and filters our frequently to clean them.

The first thing to say is there should be no food particles left as you should have rinsed these off prior to loading the machine. Dishwashers do not deal with food particles well as they are washed around and broken down. These can end up drying on plates leaving a crusty deposit. secondly insure the spray arms are not catching when fully loaded as this will prevent proper cleaning. The noise is unlikely to be effecting the performance.

It is common for the first cycle on a dish washer programme to be a cold rinse and if the appliance complete's this correctly it suggests a heat related problem. This could be the thermostat heater, sensor or even a control board problem.

Answer this question

On our machine it is sealed on to the pump unit but here it appears to be pushed on and held in place with a jubilee clip. it is only the rubber connector on our machine that is faulty - can this be purchased seperately as i do not need the pump/motor unit as well or the expense!

Hi there, I'm really sorry, but the hose part isn't available as a separate part! It's all manufactured as one part - really sorry.
