  On one hand, a bit pricy for a piece of plastic. On the other hand, a lot cheaper than calling out an electrician or losing an afternoon to take the oven out to get in behind. I took a moment to work out which was anti-clockwise, which played with my mind as I was looking at the roof of the oven, and then gave it a twist - done! I might have been helped by the oven having some residual heat from being on earlier in the day. Great little tool, just hope I remember where it is when I need it next!

  After struggling for ages to get the light cover off I decided to seek help. Came across this site on the web and found the precise tool I needed. Cover came off within seconds. Great!

  I have had problems removing the cover over the bulb in my cooker , this small tool has proven to work although it took a few times to get into the correct position but happy to say it does work .

  The Lamp Cover remover tool has just been delivered. Neither of us are able to turn it and remove cover. Is there a technique/trick to this? Thank you.

    Hi Gadgetmad. When the oven is cold, Play the hot air from a hair dryer over the glass surface for a few minutes. Start off on a low heat first. This should expand the glass cover a little to release the bond. This tip is a bit late as I have just seen your post.

    I just bought one of these gizmos before Xmas and it did the trick immediately. No messing. Worked first time. You have to line up the 'fins' on the glass cover to the recesses in the gizmo. It is quite a secure fit when you get it on. It should just slide on and a sharp twist ANTI clockwise should do it. Make sure you are turning it to the left as you look at the light. Perhaps the glass housing is stuck on with oven / cooking deposits? Try some oven cleaner to free it perhaps? Good luck.
