follow the web guide to fit as it requires some force to connect the 2 parts. take your time to ensure the red piece is the right way round and then tap with hammer

This is the fifth time that I have had to replace these mechanical locks on my Neff cooker Hood. Poor design means regular failure of these plastic parts. Overpriced..but necessary.

When my cookerhood filter holder crashed onto the kitchen floor I was at a loss as to how I could fix it back to the hood. I went online and founder the perfect solution at espares. I have had this product for 14 years and thought I would be unable to find a fix. The replacement mechanical locks are still available for my Neff cooker hood. The ideal job done.

  • Q How do you fit a new lock in place? 3 Answers

I have just received my order for the new cookerhood mechanical locks and have tried to get them to fit but they just don't. One of my locks is already in place so I just needed one for the other side. I have tried every which way to fit them but they just won't fit together. When I try fitting them together without the hood inbetween they don't either. Do I have faulty locks?

There is a photo guide on the e-spares website. Just place the hood on a hard surface, insert the pin from underneath; locate the lock part (red) on top of the pin head and tap sharply once with a hammer. Just check first that the pin is intact and that the hole in the red locking part is free. When the catches failed for us, the pin had broken off in the red lock.

They can only fit together one way - there is an oblong shape on the grey part which should match up with the oblong hole on the red part. Lie your cooker hood on a work surface inside uppermost, insert the grey part from underneath, line up red part from the top and just lock them together by tapping sharply with a hammer.

Hi Library Get ready, this is a technical one! The following link is to Bosch's website, where you can access line drawings for your specific Bosch cooker hood. https://www.bosch-eshop.com/eshop First click the 'United Kingdom' link. On the next page you have to type your model number in the 'E-number' field of 'Appliance search', located on the right hand side of the page. This should then bring up the line drawings for your cooker hood and instruct you how to fit your locks. Good luck! P.S. If you are having trouble locating the model number on your cooker, check our guide to locating model numbers here: http://www.espares.co.uk/findingmodelnumbers.aspx#a1
