Black and Decker Chainsaw Chain Sharpening Kit

Get your chainsaw chain super sharp with this kit; works with any chainsaw model.

This kit comes with a file, file holder filing guide and file handle.

How to sharpen a chainsaw chain using the Black & Decker kit:

  1. Always use a file holder filing guide to sharpen your chain. This will ensure you always get the correct sharpening angles.
  2. Place the file holder flat on the top plate and depth gauge of the cutter.
  3. Keep the correct top plate riling angle line of 30 degrees on your file guide parallel with your chain.
  4. Sharpen cutters on one side of the chains first. File from the inside of each cutter to the outside.
  5. Then turn your saw around and repeat steps 2 - 4 for the cutters on the other side of your chain.
  6. Keep all cutter lengths equal.
  7. If damage is present on chrome surface at top plates or side plates, file back until damage is removed.

I've had my chainsaw for a few years now and have always had to get someone to sharpen it for me, sometimes having to wait quite a while. With this sharpening kit the gauge that fits on the the file helps you to keep the right angle to file at.

Easy to use and does the the job required of it,It enables the blades to be sharpened at the right angle with the angle markings on the top good tool.small problem with the handle you have to fit it yourself and it does not go all the way into the handle and makes it a weak point.but all in all a usefull tool
