LG Electronics walked away from the Consumer Electronics Show's 2009 Innovations Awards this week with a total of 14 prizes. The company was honoured in several categories, including wireless communications, home appliances and computer accessories.
The awards - which are sponsored by the Consumer Electronics Association aim to recognise the most impressive advancements in technology design and engineering over the year.
Among the products praised at the event were LG's high definition LCD televisions and monitors, its Blu-ray disc players, its home theatre systems and its network attached storage systems.
Michael Ahn, president and chief executive of LG Electronics in North America, said: "These honours underscore our goal to enhance consumers' lifestyles with products that combine intelligent features and intuitive functionality with exceptional performance and stylish design."
LG, which also supplies consumers with LG parts and spares, said it hopes to become one of the top three electronics, information and telecommunications companies in the world by 2010.
It was established in 1958 and today sells a wide variety of consumer electronics, including mobile phones, televisions, DVD players and audio systems.
