There are a number of ways in which homeowners can revamp their homes without breaking the bank, a new article advises.
In a piece for the Sunday Times, Lucy Denyer states that although the current state of the economy has many people worried, simple maintenance and repair could be enough to breathe new life into a property.
In news which may be of interest to those shopping for
washing machine parts or
dishwasher spares, for example, Ms Denyer states that by making improvements consumers could also be helping themselves in the long-term.
"There are plenty of things you can do yourself to make your home a much more attractive and comfortable place to live, many of which won't cost the earth," it states, adding: "And, if you do decide to sell one day, they could add value too."
Ideal Home Magazine's editorial director, Isobel McKenzie-Price, said many people were now refurbishing their kitchens and that celebrity chefs such as Gordon Ramsay were influencing design decisions.
