New advice has been given to dishwasher users looking to repair their draining systems.
In response to a concerned reader experiencing problems with her appliance, Scripps News' Ed Del Grande states that dirty water puddles at the bottom of the machine can often be easily remedied with
dishwasher parts.
Mr Del Grande advises that before calling a service person, users should check the strainer at the base of their machine as cleaning debris out of here can often resolve the issue.
However, the he adds that it is important in all cases to follow the manufacturer's instructions and recommendations and that safety should always come first.
"If the instructions tell you to do this by hand, wear safety gloves because it's common to find bits of broken glass trapped around the strainer," he concludes.
