Whirlpool parts may be interested in recent praise for the firm's eco-credentials.
In an article for the All Africa website, Roxzanne Van Eyk states that the manufacturer has taken a number of innovative steps towards making the world a greener place including its concept eco-kitchen.
Named the GreenKitchen, the conceptual design attempts to tie together elements of the modern home and reduce the amount of electricity and water they waste.
Whirlpool South Africa's marketing executive Peter Sievers said the intention was to create a practical and ecological solution for the modern home and gave one example where fridge-freezer parts had been made more efficient.
"The refrigerator that is used within the kitchen has been completely rebuilt, making use of drawers to limit the loss of temperature when opening and closing compartments with food," he said.
Whirlpool recently added to its range with a new fridge-freezer designed for use in the garage, Cnet reports.
