Steam cleaners 'offer grout cleaning power'

A combination of chemical detergents and steam cleaners can tackle the toughest of kitchen grime, it has been suggested.
In an article for the New York Times, Jay Romano looks at the various ways in which particularly difficult stains - such as floor and tile grout - can be dealt with and finds that steam can often be key.
He states that with a combination of scrubbing, chemicals and high pressure steam cleaning many people find an effective solution to "ugly" areas of bathrooms and kitchens where grout has become discoloured.
Rod Nichols of Absolute Restoration, a US company which specialises in tile cleaning and restoration, told the site that for his firm it is important to have the right tool for the job.
"We spray a cleaning solution on the tile and let it sit for a while to loosen up the dirt
Then we go over the entire surface with our turbo head," he said.
There are a number of parts and spares that could help with a sanitisation project. In addition to cleaning cloths in various sizes, eSpares now offers a round bristle nozzle pack of four, as well as safety locks and gaskets.
