With fuel prices on the rise, some consumers may consider the benefits of digging out their electric lawnmower.
According to the Associated Press, electric lawnmowers - such as those available from Flymo - could be a great option for some as they are quieter than petrol-powered models and are simple to use and maintain.
The news agency adds that some electric lawnmowers are significantly more ecologically-friendly than "their gasoline-guzzling counterparts".
"One hour behind a gasoline powered mower spews the same amount of pollution into the air as your car does on a 350 mile drive," it states, adding that electric models will also cost less to repair on a yearly basis.
It advises using a model with a cut grass back-mounted bag or box and states that some cordless electric mowers are a solid choice as they are self-propelled.
For those with existing electric models, now could be the time to shop for lawnmower parts ahead of summer. Items such as the Flymo 33cm metal blade and Flymo J4 drive belt could help repair that mower currently sat in the garden shed.
