Following recent speculation that LG Electronics is lined up to take over General Electric, one article has noted that the manufacturer's current range will keep it strong whether a deal is finalised or not.
In a report for Business Week, Moon Ihlwan notes that LG has grown from a company that supplied low-cost microwaves and toasters into one of the top three appliance manufacturers in the world.
He states that LG's current range puts it behind only Whirlpool and Electrolux, and adds that the firm is targeting consumers looking for "snazzy designs and high performance".
"LG's sleek washing machines, for instance, last year commanded a 22.8 per cent share of the market for more expensive front-loading washers," it states.
Also proving popular, Mr Ihlwan notes, is the company's energy and water-efficient washers and a number of appliances that are available in titanium, blue, and wild cherry red.
LG's WM1437 free-standing 1400 rpm washing machine is available in a range of colours including black.
