Electrolux has recalled a line of ovens amid safety fears, after customers reported the gas unit burst into flames.
The appliance company has recalled the Kenmore wall ovens after the units were seen to burst into flames after the door was opened, according to Bloomberg.
Electrolux, which is the second biggest appliance maker in the world, voluntarily recalled 7,500 of the appliances after receiving 16 complaints.
Anders Edholm, a spokesman for the firm, said: "It was a flaw in the product design of this batch of ovens."
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a statement yesterday saying consumers should stop using the product immediately.
It highlighted a "burn and possible fire risk" in the ovens and reported that some users had received burns to the hands, face and hair.
Electrolux recently reported it was sticking to its full-year predictions for operating profits this year.
Hans Straberg, the chief executive of the firm, made the confirmation despite the company seeing a narrow loss in the first quarter of this year.
