Dishwashers could save dinner party hell
12/05/2008
Most people say the main downside of hosting a dinner party is doing the washing-up afterwards, meaning a dishwasher could be an ideal solution.
The number of people hosting dinner parties is decreasing, with the Daily Express reporting that many people now cheat in the kitchen and cut corners to impress guests.
However, many people say the worst aspect of hosting such a soiree is the mountain of washing-up they are left with.
A spokesman for Finish, the dishwasher powder firm which carried out the survey, said: "We all love to go out, but when it comes to entertaining at home, it's a shame that some people are cheating with ready meals, or using the clearing-away as an excuse not to cook for friends and family."
The survey found that 85 per cent of people claimed not to have the time to cook for friends, with eight per cent having persuaded other people to cook for them.
Four per cent of those opted to hire in a professional chef in order to produce good food.
This comes as news was revealed last week that Brits are eager to bin the microwave, get back into the kitchen and use their oven more.
