LG India reports record turnover
07/05/2008
LG Electronics has reported an all time high turnover for its quarter one results in India, ending in April.
The results for this year so far show a turnover of 1,150 crore (£143 million), according to the company, reports BusinessStandard.com.
Included in the results is a 22 per cent growth in the home appliances sector just for the month of April.
The Indian arm of the company began in 1997, with this quarter's profits representing the highest figures since then.
Mr Ramachandran, the director sales and marketing for the firm, told the website: "The month of April has seen LG Electronics strengthen its leadership in the industry with an all-time high turnover."
He added that the company aims to build on this and generate "significant growth" by catering "to the different needs of our customers".
The news of LG's results comes as many companies in the home appliances sector are reporting lower-than-average results.
Both Indesit and Electrolux recently reported lower profits than last year's figures.
