Appliances a large consideration in kitchens
06/05/2008
When redesigning the kitchen in their house homeowners should be aware of what the kitchen is used for and that each function is fulfilled.
The cooker and fridge are two of the three main points of the kitchen and should be arranged in a triangle with the sink, with ideally no more than seven metres between them, according to the Sunday Mirror.
Before any designing takes place owners should consider what the main use of the room is, whether it is socialising, cooking or eating.
These aspects should then be catered to with the appliances, with the necessary size being taken into account.
One of the next stages is to consider what appliances are needed in the space and where they can fit.
Then decisions such as whether they are free-standing or sitted need to be considered, in addition to what type of hob is required and how energy-efficient the appliances should be.
It was recently reported that improving kitchens when looking to sell your house will pay off, according to the Herald Tribune.
