Tricky household cleaning solved
01/05/2008
A new book has advised ladies the world over how to deal with tricky household situations, such as a pongy fridge or greasy microwave.
The Top Tips for Girls book advises on all manner of dilemmas, including keeping the kitchen ship-shape, reports the Sun.
For getting stubborn stains and dried-on food off the inside of the microwave the book advises a simple, no hassle solution.
By placing a bowl with cold water and washing up liquid in the appliance for three to four minutes, depending on how dirty the machine is, the stains should wipe of with ease.
This can be repeated if those stains show no sign of moving.
In addition, the newspaper reports a smelly fridge can be kept at bay by putting a small pot of bicarbonate of soda in the back.
The powder should absorb all the nasty whiffs and leave a sweet smelling appliance.
For the not-so-qualified chefs among us, a burnt saucepan can be solved by filling it with coca-cola and leaving overnight.
When morning comes it should have lifted the burnt on food and when washed to be as good as new.
A recent survey found that half of homes in the UK will not get around to their annual spring clean this year.
