Virtual appliance manufacturer 'is a success'
30/04/2008
One appliance manufacturer which has remained 'virtual', has seen large success by not relying on a global chain.
Premium Appliance Brands (PAB) was founded in 2002 and has been cited as one of Britain's fastest growing manufacturers, according to LDP Business.
The company sells to shops like Tesco, Currys and B&Q, providing a variety of products from cookers to dishwashers.
However, the firm has no factories of its own and relies on a global supply chain, meaning it can offer a wider range of home appliances.
Guy Weaver, the co-founder of the firm, told the website that he helped the company to reach the Sunday Times Fast Track league table, which ranks the 100 fastest-growing companies in Britain.
"We produce products that are right for this market to be successful," Mr Weaver said.
He added that most ovens sold by the firm are twin cavity, which is fairly unique to this country and more popular in Germany and Italy.
It has recently been revealed that steel price hikes will affect the cost of home appliances, possibly causing them to sky-rocket.
