Dyson awards honours smart stove

A stove that selects the right heat for the amount of food needing to be cooked was one of the highlights of the James Dyson Awards, according to a report.
The 'smart stove', also known as the HOB BiE, was designed by Spanish student Jesus Franch Jimenez and a team from a technical college in Madrid.
His design uses more than 2,000 tiny hobs and weight sensors that can calculate the amount of heat needed, the Independent said.
He told the newspaper conventional hobs could be frustrating to use because it was hard to get the heat right.
"[The HOB BiE design] means that no energy is wasted and you get a regular and very controllable amount of heat to create the perfect paella," he added.
Hundreds of inventors submitted their designs to the awards and while the smart stove impressed it was a light-up cyclists jacket that changed colour according to what the rider was doing which came away with the £5,000 first prize.
James Dyson is most famous for designing the bagless vacuum cleaner which claims not to lose suction.
