Miele has four products as finalists in the annual Australian International Design Awards.

The appliance manufacturer has clinched four of the 60 potential winning spots with its products, including the Medicair Vacuum cleaner and Telescopic Island Cooker Hood, reports Current.com.au.

In total, 17 of the finalist products originated from foreign countries, including the US, the UK, Germany and China.

Breville has three nominations in the awards, which are set to be announced at the ceremony this Friday.

Two products are from Brevilles' Professional Series, a blender and semi-automatic espresso machine, in addition to the ikon kettle and toaster, said the website.

Philips' Arcitec electric shaver has been listed in the final 60, as has Electrolux's compact side by side fridge series.

Electrolux received another recognition in the Housing and Building Category for its illuminated induction cooktop.

Miele has currently reduced the cost of some of its fridges by AU£1,000, with the offer being available until the end of the month.
