Dyson to launch handheld pet hair vacuum

11/03/2008
Dyson is planning to launch a new handheld vacuum designed specifically to collect pet hair.

The vacuuming giant has already released three models of its full size cleaners for pet owners and allergy sufferers.

All models feature a HEPA filter with a Bactisafe screen to reduce the effect pet hairs have on homeowners.

The Dyson vacuum cleaners have a mini turbine head to help collect the hairs, with the DC15 model featuring flexible steering and boasting to "twist and turn like no other vacuum" to get into hard to reach places.

In addition companies like Bissell and Hoover have also created pet specific cleaners to help in the tricky job of cleaning up after an animal.

Bissell says they use rubber to create a static charge to attract the hairs in their cleaner, while the company also sells a Pet Pack accessory kit with attachments for the vacuums designed to deal with "pet hair problems".
